Assessment and Placement Q&A
Q. When and where is placement/entrance testing conducted?
A. COMPASS placement/testing (COMPASS and ASSET) is available, by appointment, in the Testing Center, Yeater, room 182. Except during college breaks when the institution is closed, testing is conducted at 1 p.m. every Monday and Tuesday and at 9 a.m. every Wednesday. Call (660) 530-5818 to schedule an appointment.
Q. Do I have to take a placement test?
A. Yes, a placement test score is required for all full-time and part-time degree seeking students. This score will be used to place you in the correct English, math course and Reading class. Your placement scores may also require you to take an English, math or reading class prior to enrolling in another academic or career or technical course. The college conducts placement testing in the Testing Center (see above), but also accepts the ACT, ASSET and SAT test scores for placement.
