Scheduling My Classes
New Students New students are those who have never attended another college. New students are required to attend a New Student Orientation before they can register for classes. At Orientation, students are guided through a variety of exercises to help them make a successful transition to college life. They meet with an advisor, learn about processes and procedures, and ultimately create a first semester schedule.

Transfer Students Transfer students are considered those who have attended and completed a minimum of twelve credits at another college or university. Students who only took dual credit courses from another college are not considered transfer students. Once transfer students have received their Letter of Acceptance, they should contact Counseling and Career Services to schedule an appointment with a Counselor.
Visiting Students Visiting students are those who are enrolled full-time at another college or university. There are two types of visiting students: those who are home for the summer and wish to take courses to transfer back the next fall and those who take a course with SFCC while also taking a full-time load at their home institution. Visiting students are limited to taking nine credit hours during any semester. They may have additional admissions criteria and should contact the admissions office before trying to schedule courses.
