Art
Why study art?
We live in a visual culture that creates images that inform and entertain us. From practical every day images, to great works of art, we are constantly being challenged by popular media. To study the variety and depth of our modern world is a necessity for all major fields of study.
At State Fair Community College the Art Department offers enriching visual experiences and technical guidance. The art faculty is proud of both the depth and scope of our program classes that are offered include painting, drawing, design, ceramics, and sculpture. In addition to making art we have the opportunity to study works of art through the programs and collections in the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art, located adjacent to the Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts.
If you are interested in pursuing an associate of arts degree with an emphasis in art, please use the self-advising worksheet when visiting with your counselor.
