Student Meal Plan
The Backstage Cafe offers declining balance with money-saving options!
How does it work?
Declining balance is basically a method of payment that does not require you to carry cash to eat in our facilities, just your current student i.d. card. You pre-pay in $50 minimum increments and the balance is subtracted as you use it. If you purchase $300 or more, you will receive a 10% added value on your card, this means we will put a $330 balance on your card for a $300 purchase; that's $30 of free money! The higher your initial purchase is, the more added value you will receive!
How do I purchase my declining balance?
Purchases can be made at the Business Office window either by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover, or leftover financial aid balances may be used before the deadline. Within 24 hours of your purchase, your balance will be programmed on to your card using the card number. Please be sure to enter the same number on the purchase form as is programmed in to your student i.d. card, for instance some returning students may still use their social security number as their student i.d. number as opposed to the 5 digit number assigned to you. The number you indicate on the purchase form needs to be the same number programmed on the i.d. card. If you are not sure, we can scan the card on our machine in the cafeteria to tell you what number is on it. If the numbers do not match, it will show you are not on the system and have to be re-programmed.
How long do I have to use this balance?
The declining balance program goes from semester to semester. YOU MUST USE THE ENTIRE BALANCE BY THE CLOSING TIME ON THE LAST DAY OF FINALS EACH SEMESTER OR FORFEIT UNUSED BALANCES! BALANCES DO NOT CARRY OVER TO THE NEXT SEMESTER OR INTO THE SUMMER SESSION.
