 Head Coach Dale Ribble

Last season, Coach Dale Ribble took over the SFCC men’s basketball program and ended the year with a 19-13 record with impressive wins over long-time rivals Indian Hills, Three Rivers, Moberly and Mineral Area. Coach Ribble spent five seasons at Drury University as assistant coach to Steve Hesser and Gary Stanfield. Prior to that, he served as the administrative assistant for Missouri State University Coach Barry Hinson. Ribble was the head coach of NAIA Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. from 1997-2001, where he led the Lions to their first national appearance while establishing a school record for the most victories in a season (23). Ribble also led Lindenwood to back-to-back 20-victory seasons.

Coach Ribble played college basketball at Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) for Coach Charlie Spoonhour, participating on two NCAA tournament teams. He was also an all-Missouri Valley Conference Academic Team selection. Coach Ribble played at Millard South High School in Omaha, Neb. and was an all-state performer. In 1989, he helped his squad to a 25-0 record and Class A state championship. He earned a degree in marketing from SMS in 1994 and continued his education at Hastings College in Nebraska, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in teaching in 1997.  Assistant Coach Kevin Thomas

Beginning his second year at SFCC and assistant to Coach Ribble, Coach Thomas brings on-the-court experience to the team. As a former Drury University standout, Kevin wrapped up a solid two-year career in 2005 at Drury as the team’s leading scorer his senior year, averaging 12.7 points per game. That came on the heels of a junior season in which he started all 32 games and averaged 9.1 points per game. The Jacksonville, Fla. native began his college career at Three Rivers Community College, where during his sophomore year he helped the Raiders to a 30-6 record and a berth in the NJCAA tournament. As a high school standout at Mandarin High in Jacksonville, he led his team to a 25-7 record as a senior, earning team MVP honors after averaging 15 points per game.

Coach Thomas received his undergraduate degree in history/education and a master’s in education from Drury University. He assists Coach Ribble with all aspects of the team and serves as an assistant to the residence life director. Coach Thomas and his wife Taylor were married this past May. Taylor teaches first grade at Heber Hunt Elementary in Sedalia.
