Business Department

Mission Statement

The SFCC Business Department is dedicated to providing students with comprehensive career/technical and academic transfer programs and courses that prepare them to achieve their professional and individual goals.

Welcome

Your future is our business!  With the right business and technology training at SFCC, you'll find opportunities in accounting, banking, computer information systems, finance, retailing, marketing, network administration, wholesaling, management, manufacturing, investments, advertising, office administration, medical office, and web development.

The SFCC Business Department focuses on student learning and student success in these areas:

  • certificate
  • associate of applied science degree in a career or technical program to prepare for the world of work
  • associate of arts degree to transfer to a four-year institution
  • professional or personal endeavors to gain or update knowledge and skills

Programs are offered in the following program areas:

  • accounting
  • building materials merchandising
  • business management (management, marketing and retail management, or office management)
  • computer information systems (programming or accounting)
  • medical office (management, medical transcription, or procedure and diagnosis coding)
  • network administration
  • secretarial science (office administration or office assisting)
  • web development
  • business transfer

Graduates of high school career and technical center (CTC) programs may qualify for advanced college credit and scholarships for specific business programs through articulation agreements.

The faculty are qualified, professional, and dedicated individuals who assist students in learning the curriculum and achieving their goals.

PBL

Interested in a career in Business and want to develop your leadership skills?  PBL could be the answer!

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter at SFCC works to develop strong, assertive leadership in future business men and women and is open to all business, accounting, management/marketing, secretarial, and computer majors. 

PBL is the college-level counterpart of the high school Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).  PBL students participate in state and national competitions as well as group projects conducted under the guidance of persons in education, business, and related professions.
