Homeland Security Training

Missouri Department of Public Safety logoMissouri Office of Homeland Security logoState Fair Community College and the Missouri Department of Public Safety, Office of Homeland Security have partnered to provide free online training courses for Missouri responders such as employees of state and county public works, emergency management services, law enforcement and fire departments as well as volunteers associated with these agencies and services.

Mission

The mission of this partnership is to provide accessible and effective online training that will strengthen the abilities of first responders as they work to ensure the safety and welfare of the public in the event of local, state, regional and national emergencies.

Training courses

The current course, Introduction to Missouri Public Safety Communications, is designed to train people on basic two-way radio operations, functions and procedures that will result in effective radio communications. The four self-paced modules are:

  • Module 1 - Two-Way Radio Basics
  • Module 2 - Radio Applications
  • Module 3 - Operability and Interoperability
  • Module 4 - Mutual Aid and Interoperability Channels
