Health care specialist - Nurse Aide

Quality health care is a priority for everyone, so that means there is a high demand for quality health care workers. And these are not just doctors and nurses, but anyone whose focus or activity is to meet health care needs from the beginning to the end of life.

  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - works closely with the health care team, must have a strong grasp of emergency procedures and be able to observe a patient's condition and report that information back to a nurse
  • Certified Medication Technician (CMT) - works in long-term care facilities, administers non-parenteral (oral or by inhalation) medications and assists RNs or LPNs with medication therapy
  • Home Health Aide - provides basic care for patients with unique health needs in their homes
  • Restorative Nurse Assistant (RNA) - provides efficient rehabilitative care of residents in nursing homes
  • Phlebotomy course

There are numerous career options within the health care industry, and SFCC's Health Care Specialist with emphasis in Nurse Aide program is designed as a career-ladder to provide a quality education for several of those options.

  • Short-term Skills Certificate
  • One-year Professional Certificate
