The Associate of Applied Science in Metals Technology degree at SFCC offers broad-based training that combines machine tool and welding technologies curriculum. It provides an excellent foundation for a wide variety of metalworking-related occupations that are in high demand and pay well.

This programs prepares students for jobs in production, maintenance, machining, welding, construction, manufacturing, maintenance or servicing industries. Hands-on instruction and learning opportunities provide students the skills and competencies needed to succeed in the industrial workplace.

Students interested in a metals technology career need to have:

  • Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination
  • Manual dexterity
  • Stamina

CNC Operation Skills Certificate

The CNC Operation Skills Certificate allows students to gain experience with CNC machines and provides the technical information on setup and operation of CNC mills and lathes.
