State Fair Community College

Meet our lifelong learning instructors

Lifelong Learning instructors come from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests, and it's because of them that we are able to offer the community interesting and educational non-credit classes.

Buck, Charles:
Classes taught at SFCC:
  Basic Rider Course (Motorcycle)

I have been riding since about age 12. My first motorcycles were actually mopeds, and I had a motor scooter in high school. I currently ride all types of bikes from sport to touring and generally own several at any given time (currently three). I am a retired fighter pilot, and for most of my life I have been involved with both safety and with teaching technical and motor skills. I greatly enjoy meeting all different kinds of people and enjoy the challenge of figuring out the best way to communicate the skills and knowledge people need to be a safe, confident rider. It is very rewarding to watch as people achieve their goals. It is my hope that I can help people enjoy riding by helping them understand the basics, get started in developing their skills, all in a fun, safe, and effective environment. To watch a short video interview from a couple years ago, click:
