Tuesday, July 08, 2014

State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher has announced the addition of Desirea Coleman to the Lady Roadrunners 2014-2015 recruiting class. Coleman played her high school basketball at Santa Barbara High School in Santa Barbara, Calif.  for Head Coach Andrew Butcher.

Coleman is a 5-8 guard who averaged 11.3 points per game as a senior. She also dished out 4.8 assists per game while leading her team to a 30-6 record during her senior campaign. She also contributed 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 steals per contest while helping her team to a 3AA State Runner-Up finish as a senior. She also helped lead her team to a 3AA Southern Section Region Championship and a California Interscholastic Federation Championship in 2014. Her team was also named the Pursuing Victory in Honor-Team of the Year.

Coleman was named First-Team All-City twice during her high school career. She was also a three-year starter in high school.

"Desirea is a very good point guard,” said Bucher. “When you look at her stats, she does a little bit of everything. She is good shooter. We are very happy to have her as part of our program.”
