Saunders Signs With SFCC Lady Roadrunners
Thursday, May 22, 2014

The Lady Roadrunners have signed Tyisha Saunders for the 2014-2015 season.

Saunders, a 5-10 guard/forward from Chicago, played high school basketball for Head Coach Dorothy Gaters at John Marshall High School.

Saunders helped her team to a 28-6 record as a senior, averaging 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds. She also contributed 4.2 steals and dished out 3.1 assists per game. She was a Red West All-Conference selection during her junior and senior years and also played in the Chicago City All-Star Game as a senior.

“She really stood out at the all-star game,” said Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “She was probably the third best player there from Chicago. We are very fortunate to have Tyisha. She brings good size to the team and was the leading rebounder on her high school team. She has great athletic ability and can shoot three-point shots. Marshall plays one of the toughest schedules of any school in the Chicago area.”
