Lady Roadrunners Add Sierra and Seara Clayborn to 2014-2015 Recruiting Class
Wednesday, May 14, 2014

State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher recently announced the addition of twin sisters Sierra and Seara Clayborn. They played their high school basketball at Evanston Township High School in Evanston, Ill., where they were both played four years of varsity basketball for Head Coach Elliot Whitefield. They helped their team to a 22-8 record during their senior campaign. They will join former high school teammates Alecia Cooley and Erin Boothe at SFCC this fall.

Sierra is a 5-7 guard who averaged 11 points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds per game as a senior. She was named to the Central Suburban League All-Conference Team as a junior and a senior. She also earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Dondee Crown Christmas Tournament twice.  Sierra was named a team captain as a junior and senior. She also earned Most Valuable Player honors as a senior. Sierra also does well in the classroom earning Honor Roll designation.

“Sierra brings a lot of athleticism to our program that we like to have at SFCC,” said Bucher. “She will fit very well into our style of play, along with Seara.”

Seara is a 5-9 guard who averaged 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals during her senior campaign. She earned Central Suburban League All-Conference honors as a senior. She also earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Dondee Crown Christmas Tournament as a senior. Seara also earned Honor Roll designation for her work in the classroom.

“Seara is another athletic player,” said Bucher. “She made 13 three-point shots in one game. She gives us some consistent three-point shooting ability which we needed to bring to the team. I think this will be the first time in my coaching career that I have had four young ladies from the same high school team.”
