Lady Roadrunners Sign Two More Players for 2014-2015
Wednesday, April 23, 2014

The Lady Roadrunners have signed two more student athletes for the 2014-2015 season.

Anquinette Dozier is a 6-0 forward from Little Rock, Ark., who played high school basketball for Head Coach Selita Farr at Hall High School. Dozier helped lead the Warriors to a 21-11 record as a senior. She averaged 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as a senior and played in the Metro All-Star game in Little Rock.

“Anquinette loves the physicality of battling in the post,” said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “She also brings great strength and size, which we need. She has a lot of potential.”

Maura Skidmore, a 5-5 guard, scored 2,325 points during her career playing for Head Coach Dustin Matlock at Laquey High School in Laquey, Mo. She averaged 32 points per game during her senior year, scoring 40 or more points five times and 50 points once. She also contributed five steals, four rebounds and three assists per game during her final high school season.

Skidmore was an all-state selection both her junior and senior years. She earned all-district honors three years and was named Most Valuable Player during her senior season. She was named all-conference three years and Most Valuable Player her senior season, during which she scored 827 total points, shot 86 percent from the free-throw line and 59 percent from the field. She also knocked down 30 percent of her attempts from beyond the three-point arc.

Skidmore also was named a KJEL All-Star four times during her career and was named MVP her senior year. She was named Ozark Sports Zone Athlete of the Week and Chevy Dealers of the Ozarks Player of the Week during her final prep season. She also earned MVP honors at the Stover and Newburg tournaments that year.

“Maura loves the game of basketball,” said Bucher. “She is fast and athletic and can shoot the ball or drive to the basket. She brings the intangibles we want to see in our student athletes, like a strong desire to win. We’re excited to have her join our program.”
