The Lady Roadrunners have signed high school teammates Zhanesha Dickerson and Braennan Farrar for the 2014-2015 season. They are the first two members of the Lady Roadrunners’ recruiting class.
The pair played high school basketball at Clyde C. Miller Career Academy in St. Louis last season. They led the Phoenix to a 20-7 record and a number seven ranking in the final Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Class 4 Poll and a Public League Championship as seniors. Miller Academy won at least 20 games every year of the duo’s high school career.
Dickerson is a 5-9 guard/forward. She averaged 18.3 points and 8.2 rebounds a game as a senior while playing for Head Coach Darrin White. Dickerson was named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association All-State Team as a senior. She also was named to the First-Team All-District and Second-Team St. Louis American “Fab Five” All-Star Team.
“Zhanesha can play inside or outside,” said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “She can shoot three-point shots or take the ball to the basket off the drive. She also has great size and strength.”
Farrar, a 5-6 guard, averaged 20.7 points, six assists and 4.1 steals as a senior and shot 41 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
She also was named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association All-State Team last season. Farrar was named to the First-Team All-District and First-Team St. Louis American “Fab Five” All-Star Team, and second-team All-Metro as a senior.
“Braennan brings a lot of experience,” said Bucher. “She is a good three-point shooter and very aggressive on defense. Both Braennan and Zhanesha have played against extremely talented teams and they come from a great program. We are excited to sign both of these young ladies.”
