The Lady Roadrunners will play in the kick-off game of the 2014 NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championships. SFCC (21-8) earned the No. 16 seed and will take on No. 17 seed Western Nebraska at 10 a.m. March 17 at the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kan.
The Lady Roadrunners lost a close game to Western Nebraska 67-61 earlier this season in Scottsbluff, Neb. With a win, the Lady Roadrunners will take on top seed Trinity Valley of Texas at 2 p.m. March 18. The Lady Roadrunners last appeared in the national championships in the 2010-2011 season.
The Roadrunners (25-6) earned the No. 19 seed in the NJCAA Division I Men’s National Basketball Championship. They will take on No. 14 seed Shelton State of Alabama at 10 a.m. March 18 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kan. With a victory, the Roadrunners will take on No. 3 seed Chipola of Florida at 6 p.m. March 19. This will be the Roadrunners’ first trip to the national championships since the 1975-1976 season.
