The 24th-ranked Lady Roadrunners made it three wins in a row Nov. 12 when they took on the North Arkansas College Lady Pioneers in Harrison, Ark. SFCC (4-1) took control of a close game in the final two minutes to emerge with an 83-78 win.
“Our help side defense really took away the drive to the basket,” said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “We got a couple of steals down the stretch, which we converted into baskets, and then North Arkansas started fouling.”
Sophomore forward Sydonia Daniels recorded a double double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Antoinette Taylor also scored 21 points. Taylor dished out six assists. Freshman forward Alecia Cooley added 16 points and three blocked shots.
The Lady Roadrunners will return home Nov. 15 to take part in the Stone Laser Imaging Classic. SFCC will take on Wabash Valley College from Mount Carmel, Ill., on Friday. The Lady Roadrunners will take on Independence Community College from Independence, Kan., on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. both nights.
