SEDALIA— The State Fair Community College Roadrunners have announced the addition of two more student athletes for the 2012-2013 season.
Deron “Bubba” Hill
6-3 guard
Kansas City, Mo. - Ruskin High School
Hill earned First-Team All-Conference, First-Team All-District and First-Team All-State honors as a senior while playing for Head Coach Gerry Marlin. He led the Suburban Mid Six Conference, averaging 18 points per contest. He also contributed five rebounds and four assists per game. Hill broke the single-game scoring record at Ruskin High School, scoring 44 points against Grandview.
“He is a strong guard who can score and handle the ball well,” said Head Coach Kevin Thomas. ”I think he’s capable of playing a lot of different positions for us.”
Jonathan Layne
5-10 guard
Toronto, Ontario - Bishop Marrocco/Thomas Merton Catholic Secondary School
Layne averaged 50 points per contest as a senior at Bishop Marrocco. He also contributed six assists per game while playing for Head Coach Omar Simpson. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the Michael Jordan Skills Camp.
“He scored a lot of points in high school,” said Thomas. “He will definitely be able to provide us with some scoring and solid point guard play. He is quick and athletic and should help the players around him improve.”
