Roadrunners add three student athletes for 2012-2013
Sedalia—State Fair Community College announces the addition of three student athletes to the Roadrunners basketball team for 2012-2013.
Kansas City – Southwest Early College Campus High School
Black averaged 18 points per contest during his senior campaign. He was named First-Team All-District and earned All-Interscholastic League honorable mention.
“Jeno has a lot of upside potential,” said Head Coach Kevin Thomas. “He is athletic and has a good feel for the game. He handles the ball well and can also get to the rim. He’s only scratched the surface of how good he can become.”
Cape Girardeau – Central High School
Branch averaged 15.2 points per contest during his senior campaign while playing for Head Coach Drew Church. He knocked down 52 percent of his three-point shots and 75 percent of his free throw attempts and dished out 8.8 assists per contest.
Branch was named First-Team All-SEMO Conference. He also received All-District honors as a senior.
“I think Curtis has a chance to be a really good player for us,” said Thomas. “He does a lot of things well. He is a tremendous shooter on the catch or off the dribble. He is very athletic and has a high basketball IQ. I think he will fit very well in our offense.”
Hampton, Va. – Phoebus High School
Stitt averaged 12.7 points and 5.3 rebounds during his senior campaign while playing for Head Coach James Daniel. He also contributed two assists and 2.4 steals per contest and knocked down 31.4 percent of his shots from beyond the three-point arc. Stitt earned Defensive Player of the Year honors and was named Second-Team All-District as a senior.
“DaShawn is a long and athletic player,” said Thomas. “He shoots the ball well; he can also put the ball on the floor. He does a lot of different things. We look for him to provide some outside shooting and rebounding as well.”
