Booster Club Kicks off Second Semester
The SFCC Booster Club kicked off the second semester Jan. 5 with a meal for student athletes at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. The event gave athletes and booster club members an opportunity to interact after a Booster Club meeting.
“It’s great when our Booster Club members come out, especially to kick off the second semester,” said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “The players feel the warmth and the family atmosphere. It’s about our boosters showing how much they appreciate the hard work our players put in. I know both teams appreciate the camaraderie we have here.”
Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas also underscored the importance of the Booster Club and what members provide for the programs.
“Without the Booster Club running the concession stand and doing the other things they do, we would not be able to run our program in such a first-class manner,” said Thomas. “We wouldn’t be able to recruit the way we do. They allow us to do the extra things that make this place so special.”
The Roadrunners return home to take on the Iowa Western Community College Reivers Jan. 10. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. SFCC will open Region XVI play at home Jan. 14 against Three Rivers Community College. The Lady Roadrunners will play at 5:30 p.m. and the Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m.
