Welcome Back Bash 2011
SFCC held its annual Welcome Back Bash Sept. 1 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. The event serves as the kickoff for the new academic year and gives students and staff members a chance to interact.
“I’m just having fun and meeting new people,” said freshman Cassandra Moore. “I’m enjoying myself.”
Staff members operated a variety of game stations for about 100 students who attended. Teams of students rotated through the games throughout the evening and were awarded points based on their performance. The students’ opinions varied as to which games were their favorites.
“I would have to say the cup stacking game,” said sophomore Alexas Brown. “You only have 60 seconds to stack the cups; that’s not enough time to stack the cups into a pyramid.”
“My favorite games are the Hula Hoop game and the Hut Hut Hike game, where you have to hike the rolls of toilet paper through a target,” said sophomore Jallisa Lewis.
The event closed with a meal and awards for the teams finishing in first, second, and third place and for the most original costumes.
