SFCC’s Partlow makes college choice
SFCC sophomore guard Jerel Partlow will continue his academic and athletic career at Missouri Baptist University, an NAIA school in St. Louis.
Partlow becomes the fifth Roadrunner from last year’s team to sign a letter of intent. The Roadrunners finished second in the Region XVI tournament.
“Missouri Baptist showed the most interest in me,” said Partlow. “They called me every day and they came to see me play. I was trying to stay close to home. Missouri Baptist is about 20 or 30 minutes from my house. My friends and family will get to come and see me play.”
Partlow averaged 10.7 points a game for the Roadrunners last season, fifth on the team. He also contributed 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest. Partlow shot 30 percent from beyond the three-point arc and added one steal per game.
“Jerel can really shoot and can really stretch the defense,” said Roadrunners Assistant Coach Josh Sash. “He definitely shoots the ball with some range. He’ll be able to play at home in St. Louis in front of his family and friends. Hopefully he’ll finish up there, get his degree and have a great career.”
