Lady Roadrunners sign Silas, Talbert

The State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners have signed two more student athletes for the 2011-2012 school year.

Guards Brittany Silas and Kaila Talbert led Kansas City Central High School to an 18-7 record during their senior season while playing for Head Coach Joseph Jefferson.

Silas averaged 24 points per game as a senior. She also contributed eight assists, seven rebounds and seven steals per game. She earned first-team all-state honors last season, as well as first-team all-district and first team all-metro. She also was a two-time league MVP.

“My goal for after SFCC is to attend a university and continue my athletic and academic career,” said Silas. She plans to major in criminal justice at SFCC.

Talbert averaged a double double with 15 points and 10 assists per contest. She also added eight steals and seven rebounds per game. She earned all-conference and first team all-district honors.
