“I thought our players played really good defense,” said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “That's kind of our signature. We got after it and picked up full court. We thought if we wore them down, good things would happen. Tonight we had another great defensive effort from our team.”
Four Lady Roadrunners finished the game in double figures. Sophomore Ebony Davis registered a double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Dahlia Booker also contributed 13 points. Leak also pitched in with 13 points. Washington added 11. Freshman Mariah Duke dished out a team-leading four assists. She also contributed four steals. Sophomore Maci Wisdom led the team in steals with six. Booker added four steals. As a team, the Lady Roadrunners registered 28 steals for the game.
“The intensity was there from everyone who came into the game,” said Bucher. “I thought it was good team effort.”
SFCC will face North Central Missouri College at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at home.
