Roadrunners Defeat North Arkansas College
The State Fair Community College Roadrunners (4-0) shook off a slow start to defeat the North Arkansas College Pioneers 85-70 Nov.16 in Harrison, Ark. SFCC used a balanced attack that included five Roadrunners in double figures.
SFCC was down by eight points with less than 13 minutes to go in the first half. The Roadrunners fought their way back, tying it at 20. Sophomore Thomas Orr came off the bench and knocked down four three-point shots in the half. Orr finished with a team-high 20 points in the game.
“He definitely can shoot it,” said Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas. “He can help us throughout the rest of the year if he can come in and give us some good perimeter shooting like he did last night.”
The Roadrunners led 40-34 at the half, and shot a scorching 7-13 from beyond the arc. SFCC went to zone defense in the second half, making it hard for the Pioneers to attack.
“I thought we shared the ball pretty well,” said Thomas. “We had 23 assists overall to 11 turnovers, which is really good.”
