Roadrunners Add Two More for 2010-2011
Monday, August 30, 2010
The State Fair Roadrunners basketball team has announced the addition of two more student-athletes that will join the team in 2010-2011. Below is some biographical information on each student-athlete and a quote from Roadrunner Head Coach Kevin Thomas.
Zentrell Shannon
5’11 * 165 * Guard
Joplin, Mo. Joplin High School
Shannon averaged 10 points and five assists per game, while helping to lead his team to a 20-6 record as a senior.
“Zentrell is a guy that is a little bit undersized. He shoots it okay, pretty deceptive quickness when you look at him. I think he has a chance to be pretty good for us...He needs to get stronger in the weight room and get use to playing against higher-level competition," said Thomas.
Tyler Wilson
6’1 * 190 * Guard
Stover, Mo. Stover High School
Wilson averaged a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds per game. He also contributed three assists and two steals a contest. Wilson finished his prep career with 2,012 points. He led his team to 19-8 record as a senior. He will join the Roadrunners as a walk-on this season.
"Tyler is a kid that had a tremendous high school career… He has a good feel for the game. He comes in already physically strong enough to play at this level. He is going to have to adjust to the quickness and athleticism of the players at this level," said Thomas.
