The State Fair Roadrunners dropped an important regional game 63-51 to the Moberly Greyhounds on Feb. 20.
"Our guys came out really flat, with no energy . . . We took too many quick shots and didn't play up to our capabilities," said Assistant Coach Kevin Thomas.
State Fair (19-9, 4-3 in Region 16) was led in scoring by sophomore Justyn Watkins with 13 points. Sophomores Dominic Williams and Watkins pulled down six rebounds each to lead the team. Williams and Watkins tied for the team lead in assists with three apiece.
State Fair will return home to take on Penn Valley Community College from Kansas City on Feb. 24.
"We're going to have to do a better job rebounding the basketball in our game against Penn Valley,” said Thomas. “The main thing we need to do is play harder yet be patient and work the ball around for the best shots.”
