Opponent: Fall Basketball Jamboree
Location: Springfield, MO
The State Fair Roadrunners took part in the Fall Basketball Jamboree on Oct. 24 in Springfield, Missouri. SFCC went 2-1 at the event with victories over College of the Ozarks and Central Bible College. The Roadrunners were defeated by Evangel University in their other game.
Head Coach Dale Ribble would like to see his team play with more consistency.
"I thought out of the six halves we played, we probably played three good halves. I think we have a lot to work on, but I think that's why you have scrimmages."
Defense and rebounding are two other areas of focus in practice.
"We have to really concentrate on improving those areas," said Ribble.
The Roadrunners will take the home court for the first time at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 for the annual scrimmage with Missouri Valley College, also known as the Highway 65 Shootout.
"We still want to play a lot of guys and continue to evaluate each individual player as well as our team to see exactly where we are at this point," said Ribble.
Coach Ribble is looking forward to seeing how the team performs in their first home action.
"I think this will be good preparation for our first two games, which are at home in our classic to start the year," said Ribble.
