The State Fair Roadrunners stopped a three-game losing streak on Feb. 10 by defeating the North Arkansas College Pioneers 78-60 and avenged an earlier loss to NAC on their home court.
At halftime, State Fair led and was able to keep the game tempo more to their liking in the second half.
"Dominique Newton made some shots for us in the second half; George Williams hit a three, and Filip Toric hit a three,” Head Coach Dale Ribble commented after the game. “Jay Lee made a couple shots and that really opened things up for us."
State Fair (17-9) was led in scoring by freshman Dominique Newton with 26 points, who knocked down five three-pointers. Freshman Matthew Webb and sophomore Justyn Watkins contributed 13 points each. Newton also pulled down a team-leading six rebounds. Williams dished out a team-leading six assists for the game.
State Fair will return to game action on Feb. 16 at Missouri State University-West Plains. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
