The State Fair Roadrunners earned a split in their games at the Allen County Classic on Nov. 14. The Roadrunners (3-1) defeated the host team Allen County Red Devils 61-45.
"I thought we played really hard. Our defense was very good on Saturday night. The guys were really tuned in to what we were trying to do," said Head Coach Dale Ribble.
Ribble felt that the Roadrunners offensive execution was good at times. State Fair also did the job at the free-throw line going 14 for 16 on the night.
Sophomore Justyn Watkins led the team in scoring with 19 points. Freshman forward Matthew Webb registered a double-double with 10 points and a team-leading 10 rebounds. Sophomore Dominic Williams had a solid all-around game with five points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocked shots.
State Fair will travel to Trenton Missouri to take on North Central Community College in Trenton on Nov. 17 to take on the Pirates. Tip-off is set for
"North Central is a good team. They have good players. It will be a test for us going on the road," said Ribble.
