Lady Roadrunners in Double Figures in Win over Missouri Valley Vikings

The State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners got their season off to a good start on Nov. 3 in Marshall with a 98-39 victory over the Missouri Valley Vikings’ junior varsity team.
The Lady Roadrunners (1-0) had five players in double figures. Sophomore Brittany Young led the balanced attack with 20 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals. Freshman Tatianna Washington contributed 16 points, along with four rebounds, four assists and five steals. Freshman Dahlia Booker recorded a double-double with 13 points and a team-leading 12 rebounds. She also contributed five steals and three assists. Freshman Ciara Leak added 10 points and five rebounds. Freshman Maci Wisdom pitched in with 10 points and four assists. Freshman Arriana Walker led the team in assists and steals with nine and seven respectively.
The Lady Roadrunners will open the home portion of their schedule on Friday, Nov. 6 against Southwestern Christian College as part of the McDonald's Classic. The next night the Lady Roadrunners will take on Southwestern Illinois College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. both nights.
