40th Anniversary Projects
Archives
The SFCC archives project is being spearheaded by Jim Page, SFCC history instructor. For the initial phase of the project, we will temporarily showcase items in the display cases in the Heckart Science and Allied Health Center and in the Donald C. Proctor Library. We hope to have a permanent place on campus for storing and displaying pictures and information that tell the State Fair Community College story.
If you have items that you believe would be appropriate for the archives, such as programs, vintage clothing, pictures, etc. please contact Jim at (660) 596-7319 or at jpage@sfccmo.edu.
Plywood U Monument
To recognize and honor the original interim facilities, a Plywood U monument will be placed on the site where the interim buildings were located.

Legacy Walkway

Leave your mark on the SFCC campus by ordering your personalized brick on the SFCC Legacy Walkway. The walkway is located outside the northwest doors of the Heckart Science and Allied Health Center. The commemorative brick campaign is a wonderful opportunity to honor a graduate, memorialize a loved one, recognize a business, or pay tribute to someone who has made a difference in your life.

K-12 Bookmark Project
The bookmark project will distribute bookmarks to elementary school libraries in the college district during October 2008. Thousands will be made, as there are nearly 3,500 elementary students in public schools in Pettis County alone. The district also includes Benton County and the city of Otterville.
The project has generated much interest in the community, partly because of its utilization of recyclable/reusable materials to decorate the bookmarks. Each bookmark features the 40th anniversary logo on the front and, in most cases, an SFCC trivia fact on the back.
Both private and business sectors of the community are supporting the project. PrintLynx and Inter-State Studio have donated card stock. Groups making bookmarks for the college include the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of the Pettis County Community Partnership, the SFCC Retirees, the Show-Me Crafters, Pettis County 4-H, the Boys and Girls Club, and the members of Curves.
To date about 1,700 bookmarks have been finished. Groups and individuals will continue production until Sept. 26.
