State Fair Community College

SFCC offers free OTA info session May 10

4/27/2012-5/12/2012

SEDALIA—State Fair Community College will offer an interactive television (ITV) conference May 10 for prospective students who want to learn about the Missouri Health Professions Consortium’s (MHPC) occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program offered by the college.

The ITV conference will be held from noon to 1 p.m. May 10 in Room 220 of the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on campus.

Program Director Lea Cheyney Brandt from the University of Missouri School of Health Professions will provide an overview of occupational therapy and the assistant’s role and answer questions.

The session will give participants a chance to experience an interactive TV format, which is one of the methods used to deliver instruction for the program. Viewers at other community colleges will participate in the conference at the same time.

The MHPC occupational therapy assistant program is a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree program. Students will complete general education requirements during the first year of the program, and then will apply to the program for their second year, which begins January 2013. Application deadline is May 31.
