BOONVILLE
—State Fair Community College will begin offering classes and services this fall at its new Boonville location on The Kemper Campus, 701 Third Street, home of the former Kemper Military School.

Classes start Aug. 20 and enrollment is going on now.

“State Fair Community College is excited to establish a college presence in Boonville,” said Dr. Marsha Drennon, president. “The city and community have enthusiastically welcomed us and continue to support our efforts. We look forward to a long-lasting relationship.”

Prospective students are invited to attend one of three free summer enrollment events to apply for admission and financial aid, enroll in classes and get information about buying textbooks, applying for disability accommodations and other college services.

Enrollment events will be held from 4-8 p.m. June 14, July 12 and Aug. 2 on The Kemper Campus.

For the best customer service, students are encouraged to register for an enrollment event by calling Admissions at (660) 530-5833 and doing the following:

• Completing an application for admission online at www.sfccmo.edu/admissions. The $25 application fee is waived for students applying at the Boonville location for the fall semester.
• Requesting official high school transcript or copy of GED be sent to SFCC
• Submitting official academic transcripts from each college or university from which you may have received credit
• Submitting ACT scores or signing up to take the COMPASS. To schedule the COMPASS test, contact the SFCC Testing Center at (660) 530-5818. A testing location is available in the Boonville area.

Students who complete these steps are assured enrollment in fall classes at an enrollment event. Registrants also will be entered in a drawing for a $50 Bookstore gift certificate.

A ceremonial signing of the lease agreement between SFCC and the city of Boonville is set for 3 p.m. June 14 at The Kemper Campus prior to the first enrollment event. The Boonville City Council unanimously approved the lease agreement May 21.

SFCC will lease space from the city in the Kemper’s former library learning center. The college will have two general education classrooms and a computer classroom with 12 computers, as well as office space for administrative and student support services.

Initially, SFCC will offer about 30 general education classes, including English, math, public speaking, science, etc. Students may search online at www.sfccmo.edu/searchforclasses for the most up-to-date schedule.

SFCC is pursuing approval from the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education to offer an Associate of Arts (AA) degree at SFCC-Boonville. The AA degree is designed for transfer to a four-year college or university. This means SFCC-Boonville students could start and complete their AA degrees in the same location.

SFCC has agreements with four-year schools that ensure credit earned here transfers to those institutions. It also has specific agreements with Central Methodist University that provide bachelor’s degree programs at Sedalia, Clinton, Lake of the Ozarks, and online; Drury University for on-ground and online programs; University of Central Missouri; and the University of Missouri. CMU and UCM also offer dual admission through SFCC.

SFCC participates in the Missouri A+ program, so students who complete the program requirements at an A+ certified high school can use A+ funds to pay tuition and standard fees at SFCC. Other forms of aid also are available, including scholarships, grants and loans.

Tuition for students attending SFCC-Boonville is the Missouri resident rate of $127 per credit hour. For SFCC’s complete tuition and fees schedule, visit www.sfccmo.edu.

The college offers 81 degrees, 14 Professional Certificates and 20 Skills Certificates. SFCC also offers more than 260 online classes, plus complete degree programs online—an Associate of Arts degree, a business management degree, or a one-year certificate in real estate appraisal.

For more information or to enroll, contact the Admissions Office in the Hopkins Student Services Center on the Sedalia campus, 3201 W. 16th St., Sedalia; call (660) 530-5833; e-mail admissions@sfccmo.edu; or visit www.sfccmo.edu/admissions or www.sfccmo.edu/boonville.
