SFCC students qualify for national PBL competition

SEDALIA—Four State Fair Community College students have qualified to represent SFCC and Missouri at the 2012 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) national leadership conference June 24-27 in San Antonio.

Students who placed first through third in competitive individual and team events March 23 at the 53^rd annual Missouri PBL leadership conference in Osage Beach are eligible to compete nationally.

Advancing to national competition will be Laura Petree, Tipton, who placed first in parliamentary procedure and was elected state PBL parliamentarian; Kim Jeans, Knob Noster, second in accounting; Cathline Vest, Clinton, second in job interview; and Seth Stucker, Sedalia, second in telecommunications.

Other students participating in the conference included Martha Lynn Everitt, Brandon Hammond and Parker Twenter, all of Sedalia.

The conference featured competitive events for individuals and teams, leadership training and election of officers for next year.

PBL Advisor Jodi Fudge accompanied the students.

Phi Beta Lambda is an educational association of postsecondary student members preparing for careers in business. There are more than 11,000 active members in the United States. Missouri has nearly 400 members in 22 chapters.
