SFCC offers commercial driving academy
SEDALIA—State Fair Community College is accepting applications for its commercial driving academy, which trains drivers who want to earn their Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
A Class A license is required to operate any vehicle with a semi-trailer or trailer with two or more axles.
The four-week program includes 40 hours of classroom time and 160 hours of driving time. Classes start on the first Monday of the month. Applicants need to have all their paperwork completed two weeks prior to starting class. They also need to have their commercial driver license permit and pass drug and health screenings before beginning the program.
Tuition and fees are $3,500 plus $102.50 for licensure. Scholarships are available.
