For the first time, State Fair Community College this fall will offer complete degree and certificate programs online.
President Dr. Marsha Drennon said being able to earn a degree by taking all the required courses online will be a tremendous help for working parents, students who find it physically challenging to come to campus, anyone who works long hours and has a demanding schedule, and anyone who lives a distance from an SFCC campus.
“We want to serve our students in every way we can,” she said. “Our online degree programs can make going to college more economical and convenient, saving our students time, gasoline and money. SFCC faculty and staff are dedicated to helping our students succeed.”
Enrollment is now open for four online programs:
· An
Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree, a general education degree designed for students transferring to a four-year college or university
Last year, SFCC offered 111 different online courses with a total of 337 sections to meet student demand.
Faculty and staff members will be at the informational meeting to answer questions about admissions, financial aid and registration and to provide information about online classes and programs; evening programs, including business management, teaching, industrial technology and criminal justice; and new Certified Job Ready classes.
Central Methodist University, which offers bachelor’s degree programs in business, child development, early childhood, elementary education, and nursing on SFCC campuses in Sedalia, Clinton and at the Lake of the Ozarks, also will be at the meeting to provide information on its programs and services.
